Mother's Day 2020 Celebrating a Virtual Mother’s Day

Hello Retailers

This year, more than ever, you want to help your customers send the Moms in their lives some extra comfort and love. We all have to social distance, but we have to celebrate Mother’s Day. So, if you haven’t started focusing on this most important of days, Start Now.

Show your customers how to celebrate a Virtual Mother’s Day. When you come to an idea or heading that inspires you, as you read our advice, see if you have products that could be related and also make sure you have photo images. If not, can you take a photo fairly easily or maybe create a video. You choose.

Don’t forget to tell your customers how they can shop you during COVID-19:

  1. They can call you at the store, shop your website or book a FaceTime Shopping Appt.

  2. Also don’t forget to tell your customers how you will get the products to them.

  3. Oh and don’t forget to take payment.

Next:

Start seeding your newsletters, emails, your social media sites, your website, your answering machines etc. with ideas on how your customers can celebrate a Virtual Mother’s Day.

Ideas to share with customers:

  1. They can host a Zoom or FaceTime Brunch. Tell them they can have items delivered from your store to their Mom before the Brunch. Be creative.

  2. Arrange a Gift Box from your store. Curated with treats that will put a smile on Mom’s face.

  3. Host a Virtual Family Tribute Night. Tell them to bring pictures, videos, and stories to the Virtual Tribute to share. What products can you offer your customers here.

More Ideas:

  1. Put together a care package from your store. Have it delivered. What products that you carry will show Mom that the family member giving the gift cares?

  2. Plan a time to read with your Mom. You complete the idea here. Tell your customers to buy 2 books. One for them and one to be sent to their Mom. Virtually. What products that you sell would work with this idea.

Other leading ideas:

  1. Share with your customers that during this time we are all looking to Start New Practices: being kinder to our self, learning something new etc. You know this just skims the surface of this issue. Our Moms are no different. What products that you carry fit into this heading? Expand on this if you feel a connection.

  2. Gifting Mom a gift certificate from your store. Share with your customers that you will send the certificate by email or can you imagine this, that you will offer to send the Mom a card by mail from your store with the gift certificate included.

  3.  I like this idea. Say send your Mom a gift from your local business, it’s more important than ever because she loves to shop our store. Support local businesses during these times. Say your store name is proud to step into those shoes as the business your Mom loves and the business of choice to buy from.

  4. Curate a Mother’s Day Gift Guide. This idea is easy. Showcase your products here.

  5. Share your own story of love and admiration for your Mom or someone who has been like a Mom to you. Video this and share it with your customers.

I absolutely love this last idea: This type of shopping scheduling may be new to you.

  1. Book FaceTime/Skype/Zoom shopping appointments with customers for Mother’s Day Gifts.

  1. Or a Mom can book a shopping time with you and use her gift certificate. Steve is advising you can use an online booking tool such as Schedulicity Online Scheduling | Book Appointments Online. Need help to set this up contact Steve today.

We hope you enjoyed our ideas. Let us know how you did putting all or any of ideas out to your customers .
